Parent Corporation – Ahtna Incorporated. Ahtna Support and Training Services, LLC, (AhtnaSTS) is a subsidiary of Ahtna Incorporated. Ahtna Incorporated was established by Congress under the terms of the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act (ANCSA) of 1971 and is one of the thirteen original Alaska Native Corporations (ANC). Ahtna, Inc with its family of subsidiaries, is a diverse and growing corporation.

Ahtna Support and Training Services, LLC (AhtnaSTS) was formed in May 2005 from the Simulations and Training Division of Ahtna Development Corporation (ADC). Although ADC was originally formed in 1975 to pursue regional business, the focus quickly changed to pursuit of government contract opportunities. The Operations and Maintenance of Artillery, Air Defense, and Chemical simulators was one of these opportunities. Award of additional contracts in the training and support area made it obvious that the substantial Simulations and Training market demanded a dedicated effort. Early in 2005, this realization led directly to the strategic initiative to establish AhtnaSTS from the existing Simulations and Training Division.

A New Company with an Excellent Past. AhtnaSTS is composed of a great team of talented professionals. This team has been achieving exceptional performance in the field of simulations and training for the past six years. This performance record is based on quality people, customer focus, and operational agility.

AhtnaSTS qualifies as an Indian-owned economic enterprise as defined under the Indian Incentive Program, FAR 52.226-1. This program provides a unique opportunity for prime contractors to receive a 5% “rebate” on the amount of work subcontracted to Ahtna Development Corporation, when authorized under the terms of the contract. DoD contracts with contractors, regardless of size of the company, that contain the FAR clause 52.226-1, Utilization of Indian Organizations and Indian Owned Economic Enterprises, are eligible for incentive payments under the FY 1999 program. The FY 1999 Appropriations Act sets aside $8 Million of the amount appropriated for accounts in Title III available for incentive payments to prime contractors and small businesses.
