Description of Work:

AhtnaSTS directly assisted the prime contractor, General Dynamics in all facets of the daily operation of the BCTC at Fort Richardson including coordination of digital training events with the Digital Multi-Purpose Range Complex (DMPRC), the Battle Simulation Center (BSC), and other facilities and centers.

AhtnaSTS provided a wide range of JANUS/JCATS simulations and systems expertise and functioned as the primary instructor of the JANUS/JCATS computer based simulation to include planning, preparation, coordination, and execution. AhtnaSTS was the approving authority on the simulation database to ensure that training objectives were incorporated and that instruction materials were updated; researched battle operating systems (BOS) for inclusion into simulation scenarios to meet training objectives; presented briefings and demonstrations of the computer based simulation models; responded to complex hardware, software and network problems utilizing a variety of testing tools and techniques.

AhtnaSTS provided system administration of the training network, web and communication systems including Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN systems, maintaining and monitoring servers and network security. In addition to the administration of user accounts, passwords, e-mail, AhtnaSTS provided advisory services to network users. Based on long-range requirements, AhtnaSTS developed technical implementation plans that provided integrated solutions to include actions, milestones, timelines, critical paths and scheduled resources required for complete solutions.

AhtnaSTS was responsible for all system configuration management, documenting network and system topologies and establishing standards and requirements document for AhtnaSTS was also responsible for reviewing training products and library materials to ensure their adherence to existing standards for course development as well as published digital training strategy and doctrines. We were additionally responsible for the simulation interface of Command and Control, Communication and Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) systems. Participated in Army-wide C4I integration, development, and training workgroups to ensure leveraging of resources and Army-wide sharing of best practices.

Ahtna more than proved itself capable in meeting or exceeding each task for the BCTC. This project demonstrates our abilities to provide technical advisory services through the development and implementation of computer based simulations for TADSS equipment, maintain and update technical manuals and training materials as well as our ability to perform equipment maintenance -- on a preventative and as-needed basis – to ensure that all equipment was functional and fully operational with minimal downtime so as to eliminate training disruptions.
